BRANDON VALLEY PERFORMING ARTS CENTER
Architecture Incorporated designed this first-class performing arts and student center as the result of a master plan study of the existing Brandon Valley High School. This community cultural center regularly hosts a range of audiences from second graders to the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra. The student commons, aided by the additional kitchen remodel, doubles as a lobby for the performing arts center and the adjacent gymnasium creating an inviting gathering space for pre-event conversation and post-event receptions. Sound and theatre consultants collaborated with the firm to assure acoustical success. Computerized sound and light systems as well as side stages, orchestra pit and perimeter catwalks accommodate resident and visiting performing artists and musicians. The auditorium seats 800 and includes a balcony, side performing balconies, and a fully equipped proscenium stage with a fly gallery.
We at the Brandon Valley School District feel fortunate having architects that listened to our needs and had the capability to produce a facility that the whole community becomes proud to own.
