DISCOVERY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Architecture Incorporated received unanimous approval from the Sioux Falls School Board to serve as the architect for a new west side elementary school. On land located west of Memorial Middle School, the new elementary school will be based on Architecture Incorporated’s design of Terry Redlin Elementary. Although the Redlin design called for a two-story school due to property constraints, the new school design is a one story school that accommodates four sections of each grade and approximately 700 students. Because the board opted for the modified Terry Redlin plan, the school district expedited the building process by bypassing a lengthy design phase, which would have been necessary with a new school design.
